In the beginning, when mankind was selecting animals to tame, the cat was not highly favored. But the cat showed mankind that she can get her way.
REVIEW
This whimsical animated short contains no dialogue whatsoever, depicting its story entirely through figures, gestures, sound and music. We see Adam and Eve-type characters in a twilight-lit Eden. They interact with the animals in a forest, and are able to command most of their spirits by bending them, gently, to their will. The cat, however, seems to have other ideas. The black figures of the animals and the humans in the film look like cut-out shadows--perfectly befitting the amorphous nature of early Biblical life on earth. There is a strong mystical and spiritual feeling to this animation, and it is a charming and engaging take on mankind's first interaction with an independent-minded feline.
